My Calling
Welcome to the heart of my ministry. My calling is shaped by a deep commitment to preaching, empowering men, nurturing spiritual disciplines, and teaching. Each of these areas reflects years of study, service, and a passion for equipping others to grow in faith and purpose.
Preaching
Preaching is not just a task—it is my vocation and a sacred trust. My journey in preaching has been shaped by rigorous academic study and practical ministry experience. My doctoral work at United Theological Seminary focused on Preaching Prophetically in a Postmodern Culture: Communicating with Contemporary Audiences. This core study equipped me to speak with clarity and conviction to the realities of our time.
I have further honed my preaching through participation in Compelling Preaching Initiatives with the AME Church and the University of Southern California. Currently, I lead a cohort of preachers, guiding them in the art and discipline of prophetic preaching. My goal is always to communicate the timeless truth of the Gospel in ways that resonate powerfully with contemporary audiences.
Men’s Ministry
I am deeply committed to the spiritual formation and empowerment of men within the church community. My dissertation, Reformation of the African American Male in the Church Community, reflects my dedication to this vital work. I have had the privilege of leading and facilitating the Men’s Conference at the Epiphany Training Institute (2018) and formerly led the Sons of Allen Men’s Ministry in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Through workshops, conferences, and ongoing ministry, I have walked alongside men on their faith journeys—encouraging, challenging, and equipping them to live out their calling with integrity and purpose.
Spiritual Disciplines
Spiritual disciplines are the foundation of a vibrant faith. I have authored several devotional works, including 40 Days on the Narrow Road (a 40-day devotional), RESET (a 21-day devotional), and RESET: Fatherhood Edition (a 21-day devotional), all of which emphasize the transformative power of spiritual practices.
In my pastoral ministry, I have led congregations in structured studies of the spiritual disciplines, walking with them as they cultivate habits that deepen their relationship with God. My writing and teaching in this area aim to make spiritual growth accessible, practical, and life-changing.
Teaching
Teaching is woven into every aspect of my ministry. As an instructor with the AME Southern California and Midwest Conference Boards of Examiners, and as an adjunct professor at Calvary Bible College, I have taught courses ranging from preaching and pastoral care to urban ministry and biblical studies.
My approach to teaching is interactive, practical, and grounded in real-life ministry experience. Whether in the classroom, the pulpit, or through written devotionals, my desire is to inspire and equip others to pursue their calling with knowledge, wisdom, and passion.
